Yellow Jackets enjoy 'Senior Night' send-off

Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Jason Cuffee scored a career-high 24 points and Marcus Reineke added 22 to highlight a 103-72 G-MAC win for Cedarville against Salem International on Senior Night in the Callan Athletic Center.

Cuffee, one of four seniors honored prior to the game, buried six three-pointers en route to his finest game as a Yellow Jacket. Four players in all scored in double figures.

The Yellow Jackets improve to 11-15 overall and 7-5 G-MAC. They play their final two games on the road before the conference tournament.

A 27-9 run gave CU an 18-point lead late in the first half. However, the hosts scored only three points in the final five minutes for a 47-35 spread at the break.

The Tigers hung around for the first few moments of the second period. The Yellow Jackets needed less than two minutes to regain control by scoring 12 of the next 14 points.

Reineke hit five three-pointers and made all five of his free throws to go along with five assists. Leighton Smith had 14 points while Easton Bazzoli contributed 13 points and six steals.

Next Up: Cedarville plays at Ohio Valley on Saturday afternoon with tip time at 4:15 p.m.

Quotable: Head Coach Pat Estepp

"I am really happy for our seniors! That might have been the best performance Cuffee has ever had. He, Marcus and Leighton played like seniors tonight.

"Offensively, I thought we were very unselfish. Defensively, we were as active as we had been all year. Not only did we have 17 steals and force 28 turnovers, but we also had 25 deflections.

"We were a little loose with the ball in the first half and did not rebound great, but I thought we did a better job on those fronts in the second half.

"It was a memorable night for a great group of seniors! We were thrilled that Leighton's mom was able to make it from Jamaica and be here for Senior Night to watch her son play. That was really special!"
