Box Score 2 CLERMONT, Fla. - Cedarville scored four times in the seventh inning to surprise West Chester, 4-1, on the last day of The Spring Games at the National Softball Training Complex.
Assumption ended the Lady Jackets' stay with a 3-1 setback to close out spring break.
CU entered its final at bat vs. West Chester trailing 1-0 and only one hit to its credit. The Jackets bounced back with the help of four hits, two errors and a walk.
Hannah Lord scored the first run on a wild pitch and
Sarah Parsons doubled in the go ahead tally.
Danae Fields two-out infield hit scored Parsons and
Kaitlyn Woerner came across when the throw was wide of first base.
Starting pitcher
Morgan Arbogast, 4-4, went the distance with nine strikeouts.
Assumption checked the Lady Jackets on four hits to win the spring break finale. The only run for Cedarville, 9-9 overall, came on a sacrifice fly by Woerner in the sixth inning.
Stinger Notes:
- Arbogast has allowed just one earned run in her last three outings covering 17 2/3 innings.
- Fields has a six-game hitting streak and has hit safely in nine of her past ten games.
- The Lady Jackets finished 7-7 at The Spring Games. They posted a 6-10 record in 2017.
