CEDARVILLE, Ohio - NFCA Division II No. 15 Indianapolis halted Cedarville's seven-game winning streak by taking both games of a non-conference doubleheader.
The visiting Greyhounds, 33-11 overall, won by scores of 5-2 and 8-3.
The Lady Jackets managed just three hits in the opener, all singles, off the bats of
Morgan Arbogast,
Danae Fields, and
Jessica Steger.
Hannah Lord drew a bases loaded walk and
Kaitlyn Woerner produced an RBI groundout.
A four-run seventh inning blew open the nightcap for Indianapolis. Cedarville trailed 4-0 before scoring three times in the fifth.
Fields lined a two-run double to left center and later scored on an infield error. Lord had three hits and Woerner added two for the Lady Jackets, 23-13.
Stinger Notes:
- Eight of the Jackets' 13 losses this season have been to teams that are or have been ranked in the DII Top 25.
- Temperature at first pitch was 35 degrees with a 25 degree wind chill.
- UIndy defeated Cedarville three times this spring and leads the all-time season series, 6-0.
