CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The top-seeded Lady Jackets will face No. 8 Lake Erie when the G-MAC Softball Tournament begins Thursday at the Athletes in Action Sports Complex in Xenia.

First pitch is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. EDT with live coverage on Stretch Internet.

Cedarville, 30-16 overall, repeated as the league's regular season champion after finishing 19-5 in the G-MAC. Lake Erie ended the season 16-20 and 10-12 G-MAC.

The two teams played a couple of tight contests in Cedarville on April 21 with the Lady Jackets pulling out 2-0 and 3-2 victories. Freshman pitcher Kacey Smith started each game and was the winner in both.

Also at 10:00 a.m., No. 4 Hillsdale, 20-14, plays No. 5 Trevecca, 29-15-1. The losers of both games meet at 2:00 p.m. in an elimination contest with the winners squaring off at 4:00.

In the other side of the bracket, No. 2 Findlay, 27-20, takes on defending champion and No. 7 Kentucky Wesleyan, 25-24, at 12:00 p.m. No. 3 Ohio Dominican, 32-19, goes up against No. 6 Davis & Elkins, 15-18-1, also at noon.

The eight-team double elimination event runs through Saturday with the champion earning the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional.
