CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Freshman
Tommy Ansiel cleared 16-feet even in the pole vault and tied for 11th place at the NCAA Division II Men's Outdoor Track Field Championship.
The event was hosted by Johnson C. Smith University at the Irwin Belk Complex.
Ansiel, a freshman from Warrenville, Ill., met the provisional qualifying standard early in the season and was the G-MAC champion.

A day earlier,
Trent Classen finished tenth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in 9:13.85. The sophomore from Lexington, Ky. advanced to the final with a time of 9:05.49 in the prelims.
