CLEVELAND, Tenn. -
Alexandra Brizzi was part of three first-place finishes including a school record in the 4 x 100 relay at the Lee Invitational in the outdoor season opener.
The senior from Bensalem, Pa. won the 100 and 200 meter dashes with times that both rank No. 2 on Cedarville's all-time list.
Brizzi's winning mark in the 100 was 11.84 seconds to go along with a 24.36 effort in the 200.
Kiersten Franklin was the runner-up in both races. Her time of 11.91 seconds in the 100 rates No. 3 at CU and her 200 performance of 24.73 rates No. 5.
Brizzi and Franklin teamed up with
Mallory Gasper and
Nora Hagan to win the 4 x 100 relay in 47.07 to shave a full second off of the previous school record.
The Lady Jackets' other victory came from
Emily Walsh in the 1,500 with a winning time of 4:39.89.
The 4 x 400 meter relay foursome of
Rachel Tarwater,
Sydney Diedrich,
Reghan Mulder, and
Martha Bergley placed second in 4:06.15.
INDIANA WESLEYAN INVITATIONAL - TFRRS RESULTS
Four Lady Jacket pole vaulters were in Marion, Ind. at the Indiana Wesleyan Invitational.
Haleigh Eckert placed third by clearing 12-3.50 (3.75 meters).
Cedarville will host the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open on Saturday with action beginning at 10:30 a.m. EDT.
