CEDARVILLE, Ohio -
Summer Swartwout won three events to lead Cedarville to its seventh consecutive NCCAA Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship.
The Lady Jackets, who claimed their 12th title in all, piled up 179.33 points with Bethel a distant runner-up with 88.33 points. Greenville was third with 85.
Sproutwout won the 60 meter dash in a school-record time of 7.53 seconds to lower her NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark.
She led a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 in 24.89 seconds - No. 5 on CU's all-time list and another NCAA qualifier.
Nora Hagan (26.17) was second while
Mallory Gasper (26.29) was third. The top three finishers in all events are NCCAA All-Americans.
Cedarville also went 1-2-3 in the 3,000.
Abby Drosdak was the champion in 10:03.08 and was followed by
Corinne Lynch (10:03.41) as well as
Savannah Ackley (10:17.74).
Other Saturday winners were
Sydney Diedrich in the 800 (2:19.0) who was also part of the victorious 4 x 400 meter relay team (4:04.38) along with
Jessica Ferguson,
Nevaeh Pearson, and
Hope Carroll.
On Friday, the 4 x 200 meter relay squad of Swartwout, Gasper, Carroll, and
Angela Williams crushed the school record with a winning time of 1:44.49.
Caroline Schaeckenbach took first place in the pentathlon with 3,011 points. She posted the top mark in the 60 meter hurdles, 800 meters, and long jump.
