NCCAA ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
CEDARVILLE, Ohio –
Matt Schaeckenbach is the NCCAA Field Athlete of the Week following his school record performance.
The junior from Iowa City, Iowa cleared 7-0.25 (2.14 meters) to win the Cedarville Collegiate Invite.
He broke the previous CU record of 6-11 which was set by Nate Freeman in 1999.
Schaeckenbach currently has the No. 1 mark in both the NCCAA and G-MAC. He is tied for No. 5 nationally in NCAA Division II.
It wasn't the only school record he set in the meet. Schaeckenbach also won the 60 meter hurdles in 8.04 seconds which is the top effort this winter in the league and NCCAA.
