ASHLAND, Ohio – The Lady Jackets recovered to win game one while Ashland rallied to take game two in a G-MAC doubleheader at Deb Miller Field.
Cedarville allowed a 6-1 lead to get away in the opener and then scored three times in the seventh inning for a 9-8 victory.
Ella Leonard smacked three hits including a double with an RBI and a run scored.
Chesnie Patton and
Macy Sidebottom added two hits apiece while
Anna Gardner and
Anna Gorshak scored two runs each.
Winning pitcher
Maya Merrill, 4-8, struck out three batters in relief over the final two innings to get the victory.
In the nightcap, the Eagles rebounded from a 5-1 deficit and eventually walked off in the bottom of the seventh for a 6-5 win.
Gorshak, who tallied two hits and scored twice, belted a three-run homer to tie the single-season school record of nine long balls.
Leonard, Sidebottom, and
Camryn Taktak registered two hits each for the Jackets, 10-22 overall and 2-6 G-MAC.
