G-MAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
 
CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Maya Merrill has been named the G-MAC Softball Pitcher of the Week for her performance in games played on March 2-8.
 
The sophomore from Louisville, Ky. made five appearances with four starts posting a 3-1 record and a 1.40 ERA at the Space Coast Spring Games in Viera, Fla.
 
Merrill struck out 28 batters in 30 innings with a high of nine K's during an eight-inning complete game effort vs. Davenport.
 
She was credited with the victory in relief of a 6-4 nine-inning win against NFCA Division II No. 15 Saginaw Valley State.
 
Merrill finished her week by blanking Roosevelt, 2-0, fanning seven batters in seven innings.
 
Cedarville, 6-12 overall, went 6-4 during the week and resumes its schedule with a non-conference twinbill at Shawnee State on Tuesday.
