CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Lady Jackets are the No. 8 seed in the G-MAC Softball Championship which begins Wednesday in Akron, Ohio.
It's the fourth consecutive appearance for Cedarville in the eight-team double-elimination tournament that is staged at historic Firestone Stadium.
The Jackets, 18-32 overall, face No. 1 seed and regular season champion Tiffin, 32-12, at 3:00 p.m. on opening day with game times moved later because of the weather forecast.
It will be the 74th all-time meeting in softball between the two longtime rivals with the Dragons holding a 45-28 edge.
CU will play either No. 4 Findlay or defending champion and No. 5 Hillsdale in the second round.
The tournament champion earns the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Championship.
