Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

The Germain Ford of Beavercreek Female Athlete of the Week (Dec. 20-31) is basketball player Lydia Sweeney. The 5-foot-8 junior guard from Grand Island, New York tossed in a team-high 18 points as the Lady Jackets defeated Saginaw Valley State 71-66 in a non-conference game on Saturday, Dec. 31 in the Callan Athletic Center. Sweeney hit 6-of-10 field goal attempts and 6-of-8 free throws while adding six rebounds, three assists and two steals to her performance. She scored eight points to go with four assists in an exhibition loss at NCAA Division I Dayton on Thursday, Dec. 29.
