Relay record highlights CU's day at Marietta

MARIETTA, Ohio - The Yellow Jackets claimed eight events featuring a school record in the 4 x 200 meter relay to pave the way to the team title at the Marietta Open.

The relay foursome of Michael Beight, Marcus Benjamin, Mark Farris, and Sammy Starr posted a winning time of 1:31.87 in the 4 x 200. The performance took 1.69 seconds off the school record set two years ago of which Beight and Benjamin helped to set.

Justin Hoffman was a double winner. Already an NAIA qualifier in the 60 meter hurdles, he won the 55 meter hurdles in 7.68 seconds as well as the 400 meters in 51.25.

Evan Thayer was victorious in the mile in 4:21.42. Other wins came from Eli Husfelt in the 500 (1:09.97), Ethan Blagg in the 800 (2:00.24), #T.J. Badertscher# in the 3,000 (8:51.79), and Aaron Lane in the long jump (21-7.25).

Cedarville easily won over four other schools by totaling 203 points. West Virginia Wesleyan was the runner-up with 95 points. [COMPLETE RESULTS]
