CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Miami University ran to the team title in the 56th Annual All-Ohio Intercollegiate Men's Cross Country Championship at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course. Host Cedarville placed 11th out of 37 teams.
The victorious RedHawks totaled 82 points while runner-up Xavier had 119, and third-place Ohio University, 123. The Yellow Jackets had 265 points.
Chris Lemon from the University of Dayton was the individual champion. He took 32 seconds off the course record by covering the 8,000 meters in 24:12 in beautiful, breezy weather with temps around 70 and dry conditions.
Matt Brooker set the pace for the Yellow Jackets finishing 26th in 25:18. Evan Thayer was 46th in 25:44. There were a total of 263 competitors in the championship race.
Josiah Bragg was 61st in 25:59. Also running for the Yellow Jackets were Jordan Davies (63rd; 26:01); #T.J. Badertscher# (72nd; 26:06); Josh Wiseman (91st; 26:25); Chris Vaughn (101st; 26:35).
This was the first time that Cedarville University had ever hosted the meet. While it was Miami's 16th All-Ohio title, it was the first win for the RedHawks since 1993.
