PORTSMOUTH, Ohio - The NAIA #22 Yellow Jackets took second place at the Shawnee State Invitational outrunning everyone except the host and #2 ranked Bears.

Shawnee State won the 12-team event with 24 points. Cedarville finished with 41 points while Berea (Ky.) had 95.

Evan Thayer had his best performance of the season by covering the 8,000 meters in 25:37. His effort placed 4th out of 127 competitors.

Two other CU runners were in the Top 10. #T.J. Badertscher# came in 7th in 26:15 and Josiah Bragg was 10th in 26:28.

Josh Wiseman was 11th in 26:28 to pace a group of four more Yellow Jackets in the Top 20. The others were Matt Brooker (12th; 26:31), Jordan Davies (14th; 26:54), and Ryan Gustafson (19th; 27:14).
