NDC muzzles Cedarville offense

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio - Notre Dame pitching checked the Lady Jackets on six hits total and the hosts swept an American Mideast Conference doubleheader, 8-2 and 9-0.

Of the 17 runs that the Falcons scored, nine came in their first at bat of each contest. They paraded 10 batters to the plate in the bottom of the opening frame of the first game and scored six times on just three hits.

Missy Murphy tallied two of Cedarville's four hits including an RBI double. Paige Stewart and Emily Young had singles. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE]

The nightcap had a sour start as well with Notre Dame scoring three runs in its first at bat. They put the game away with a five-run 4th as it was eventually halted via the 8-run mercy rule.

Young and Christina Zorn had the only hits for the Lady Jackets, 20-25 overall and 6-8 AMC. NDC improves to 19-20 and 10-4 AMC. [GAME 2 BOXSCORE]
