URBANA, Ohio - Jenna Fox and Paige Stewart were the offensive stars for Cedarville in a non-conference doubleheader at Urbana as the Lady Jackets won the opener, 4-2, but dropped the nightcap, 6-5.
Fox went 4-for-4 with two doubles in the first game and Stewart added two hits including the go-ahead RBI double in the 7th inning. CU bounced back from a 2-1 deficit with a run in the 6th and two more in its final at bat.
Winning pitcher Emily Young struck out six batters and improved to 4-7 while adding two hits at the plate. The Lady Jackets stroked 14 hits total with additional two-hit efforts coming from Christina Zorn and Meghan Creech. [GAME 1 BOXSCORE]
Stewart belted a three-run homer in the 7th inning of the second game, but Cedarville came up short in falling to 11-20 on the season. She had two hits total and Fox added two more including a double.
