CLEARWATER, Fla. - Cedarville moved to 4-0 on the young baseball season by sweeping a non-conference twinbill from Goshen, 12-4 and 14-4.
The Yellow Jackets exploded for seven runs in the 5th inning of the opener and four more in the 6th. Dan Petke was the hitting star going 3-for-4 with four runs batted in. Rob Nesteroff had two hits including a double and three RBI's, Andrew York tallied two hits including a double with three runs scored, and Tyler Rost contributed two hits, two runs, and two RBI's.
Cullen Montgomery was the winning pitcher. He allowed two earned runs and struck out eight in five innings.
Nate Davenport did the damage at the plate in game two. He was 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI's, and two runs scored. Nesteroff and Alex Beelen ripped three hits each.
Michael Roe picked up the win on the mound with five strikeouts. The game was halted in the 6th inning by the 10-run mercy rule.
