YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -
Carsyn Koch was a winner in the mile run at the Youngstown State Invitational as the Lady Jackets opened their 2017 indoor schedule.
The non-scoring meet was held at the Watson and Tressel Training Site.
Cedarville, pre-season ranked No. 19 in the USTFCCCA Division II poll, had five Top 10 finishes in the meet.
Koch was timed in 4:53.81 to win the mile by more than two-and-a-half seconds. The mark meets the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standard and rates second all-time at Cedarville.
The Washburn, Maine native holds the school record in the mile at 4:48.36.
Alaina Spears placed 3rd in the 5,000 meters in 18:16.26 while
Christy Jesson was 4th in 18:17.89. The times were personal-bests for both runners.
Kayla Casaletto finished 5th in the 3,000 in 10:40.60. The 4 x 400 meter relay unit of Koch,
Olivia Kundo,
Carly Rose, and
Lyndsey Smith was 6th in 4:04.45.
