COLUMBUS, Ohio -
Nicole Perez turned in a personal best time in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the Jesse Owens Classic hosted by Ohio State.
The senior native of Cicero, N.Y. was timed in 11:06.35 to place 10th in the field of 18 runners. She was second among non-Division I competitors.
The fastest time previously posted by Perez was 11:10.17 last weekend at the All-Ohio Outdoor Championship.
She narrowly missed the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying standard of 11:05.0. Perez was the G-MAC runner-up in the 2016 steeplechase.
Freshman
Courtney Kohler also participated in the Jesse Owens Classic in the javelin.
