Box Score 2 CLERMONT, Fla. - The Lady Jackets shut down Holy Family, 6-0, and then dropped a 4-3 nailbiter to Wilmington (Del.) in The Spring Games.
Morgan Arbogast, 3-4, fired a complete-game three hitter in the opener for her third shutout of the spring. Ironically, she did not strike out a batter and walked one.
Kara Eiginger tallied two hits including a two-run triple, a double, and scored two runs.
Arbogast aided her cause with two hits featuring a double.
Heather Lord went 3-for-4 and
Danae Fields scored twice.
Wilmington scored four times in the first two innings and the lead held up for a one-run decision.
Freshman pitcher
Kacey Smith, 1-2, tossed a complete game with three strikeouts.
Nine different players contributed base hits for Cedarville, 8-8.
Avary Humes and
Hannah Lord had doubles.
Stinger Notes:
- Cedarville stole six bases in the first game and recorded four extra base hits.
- Holy Family is coached by former Lady Jacket CrystalRae States Fusoro, who played for CU in 2007-08.
- Game time wind chill for the first contest was 44 degrees.
