Box Score 2 VIENNA, W. Va. - A ten-run inning sparked the Lady Jackets to a much tougher than anticipated G-MAC twinbill split at Ohio Valley.
Cedarville won the nightcap, 13-6, after the last place Fighting Scots upset the visitors, 1-0, in the opener.
The Jackets found themselves in a 3-3 deadlock with OVU in the second game before they sent 14 batters to the plate in the sixth inning.
The ten runs were produced on nine hits and two errors.
Sarah Parsons singled in the first run of the frame and later ended the uprising with a two-run double.
Kaitlyn Woerner went 4-for-4 to lead a season-high 21-hit attack. Identical twins
Hannah Lord and
Heather Lord each contributed three hits, two runs, and an RBI.
Morgan Arbogast tallied two hits and four RBI's.
Danae Fields,
Jessica Steger, and
Danielle Wolgamot had two hits each for Cedarville, 24-14 overall and 13-3 G-MAC.
Freshman
Kacey Smith, 7-3, was the winning pitcher in relief. She struck out two batters in 2 1/3 innings.
The bats went silent in the first game. Ohio Valley, who entered the contest at 3-31 for the season, got a bases loaded walk in the fourth inning while Cedarville managed just four hits total.
