Box Score 2 NORTH CANTON, Ohio -
Morgan Arbogast spun a two-hitter to lift Cedarville to a 4-0 G-MAC softball victory at Walsh and give the Lady Jackets a split in the doubleheader.
The host Cavaliers took the first game, 5-2.
Arbogast, 6-5, struck out three and did not walk a batter. She helped herself at the plate with a double and a run scored.
Sarah Parsons was 3-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base from the ninth spot in the order for Cedarville, 17-11 overall and 6-2 G-MAC.
Jessica Steger had two hits with a run scored and an RBI,
Danae Fields stole a base and scored twice, and
Heather Lord drove in a run.
In the opener, Walsh broke a 2-2 deadlock with three runs in the fifth inning.
Danielle Wolgamot had two of CU's eight hits. She delivered a two-run single to go along with a double. Arbogast and
Kaitlyn Woerner added doubles while Fields stole one base.
Stinger Notes:
- The shutout was the 12th of Arbogast's career. She's had four in each of her first three seasons.
- Parsons is 7-for-8 in the last three outings with a pair of three-hit efforts.
- Fields stole a base in each game and has 35 for her career.
- Heather Lord is batting .500 (10-for-20) in her last six games.
- CU had twice the number of hits (18-9) as Walsh in the two contests.
- The Jackets are 46-for-51 in stolen bases this spring.
- The twinbill was played in snow flurries with temperatures in the low 30's.
