HILLSDALE, Mich. - Freshman Haleigh Eckert surpassed Cedarville's school record in the pole vault which had stood for more than 16 years.

The Mason, Ohio product cleared 12-10 (3.91 meters) and placed fifth in the Hillsdale 'Last Chance' Classic.

The previous school record of 12-6 was held by Rachael Castro and established at the Cincinnati Relays on March 19, 2005.

Castro owns seven of the Top 10 outdoor marks in school history.

Now, Eckert holds the all-time record as well as No. 4 when she cleared 12-0.50 in the Yellow Jacket Open on March 27.
