ALLENDALE, Mich. -
Savannah Ackley smashed the school record in the 5,000 meters at the Grand Valley State Big Meet Friday in the Kelly Family Sports Center.
The sophomore from Hart, Mich. posted a time of 16:42.97 which met the NCAA provisional qualifying standard and is the seventh-fastest time in Division II so far this winter.
Hannah Rhem blazed the 5K in a career-best 16:55.03 - No. 2 in the CU record books and No. 15 on the DII provisional qualifying list.
Naomi Herman was timed in 17:04.52 and
Bethany Sholl recorded a 17:07.05 effort. They rank No. 5 and No. 6, respectively, on the school's Top 10 list plus are also NCAA provisional qualifiers.
Other performances included
Kiersten Franklin in the 400 (58.14),
Audrianna Enns in the mile (4:59.23) as well as
Remington Hobson (5:02.96) in the mile.
