FAIRBORN, Ohio - Cedarville opened its 2025 men's cross country campaign with a fourth-place finish at the Wright State Mike Baumer Classic.
The 5,000 meter race was contested at Fairborn Community Lower Park.
The Yellow Jackets trailed only three NCAA Division I programs – Butler (21 points), Ohio State (34), and Wright State (120). Cedarville totaled 126 points in the field of 208 competitors.
Sophomore
Joey Carroll led the way with a 14th-place overall finish in 14:57.6. He was followed closely by
Joey Merrill, who crossed the line in 15:05.3 for 22nd place.
Jeremiah Hetrick was 28th in 15:13.3.
Jonathan Christopher made an impressive collegiate debut, clocking 15:22.5 to come in 35th.
Kolson Kytta (43rd; 15:30.2),
J.J. Varner (45th; 15:31.5), and
Trevor Billingsley (50th; 15:37.0) rounded out the Jackets' top seven.
