CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Track Athlete of the Year
Carsyn Koch set three meet records to lead Cedarville to its third consecutive G-MAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
Koch, a junior from Washburn, Maine, took first place in the 400 meters (56.79), 800 (2:12.94), and 1,500 (4:35.43).
Jeff Bolender was tabbed G-MAC Coach of the Year after the Lady Jackets totaled 219 points. Malone was the runner-up at 196 and Ursuline was next in the eight-team field with 175 points.
Courtney Kohler set another meet record with her victory in the javelin. She unloaded a throw of 123-7 (37.68 meters).
Kayla Casaletto won the 5,000 meters in 18:01.11.
Cedarville's other two wins came on Friday - both meet records - by
Alaina Spears in the 10,000 meters (38:08.56) and
Amanda Edwards in the pole vault (10-11.75; 3.35m).
The 4 x 400 meter relay quartet was the runner-up in 3:55.13 which is the eighth-fastest time in school history. The group included
Olivia Esbenshade,
Sarah Hoffman,
Carly Rose, and
Lyndsey Smith.
Esbenshade was also the runner-up in the 800 (2:13.03) and 1,500 (4:36.0). Other second place efforts came from
Nicole Perez in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (11:08.65) and
Mariah Cruise in the discus (127-8; 38.92m).
Cruise's third place performance in the shot put of 40-feet even (12.19m) ranks #4 all-time at Cedarville.
