Box Score 2 CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Cedarville returned to the diamond for the first time in 11 days and swept a G-MAC doubleheader from visiting Alderson Broaddus.
The Lady Jackets, 15-9 overall and 4-0 G-MAC, extended their winning streak to six in a row after posting 10-6 and 3-2 victories.
In the opener, CU jumped to an 8-1 lead to take command.
Heather Lord tallied three of the team's 13 hits.
Avary Humes doubled twice, drove in four runs, and scored three times.
Kaitlyn Woerner had two hits including a double while
Danae Fields added two hits and two runs.
Freshman
McKenna Smith, 4-1, was credited with the win in relief. Starter
Morgan Arbogast struck out five in 3 2/3 innings.
Reigning G-MAC Pitcher of the Year
Danielle Wolgamot notched her first career save to preserve the win in the nightcap.
Wolgamot entered the game in the sixth with the bases loaded and got an inning ending double play to keep the lead at 3-2.
In the seventh inning, she struck out the final two batters of the game when AB had the tying and winning runs on base.
Starting pitcher
Kacey Smith, 3-3, got the victory. Humes had two hits with a double and two runs scored.
