TIFFIN, Ohio -
Lyssi Snouffer made her collegiate debut by winning the high jump at the Tiffin Invitational in record-setting fashion.
She cleared 5-7.75 (1.72 meters) to break Cedarville's school record of 5-6 first set in 1988 by Lynn Strickland. CU Hall of Famer Joy Beitler equaled it in 1997.
Snouffer, who played in the Lady Jackets' volleyball match less than 24 hours earlier, met the NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark. She's currently tied for the sixth-best mark in the country.
Rachel Sweeney won the 3,000 meters in 10:10.30 which is the seventh-fastest time in school history.
Remington Hobson (10:13.76) was the runner-up and
Naomi Herman finished third (10:14.98).
Alayna Ackley paced a dominant CU showing in the 5,000 meters with a winning time of 18:20.80.
Bethany Sholl (18:42.18) took second and
Amy Plank (18:43.12) was third.
Stinger Notes:
- Volleyball teammates and sisters Lauren Willow (5-3.75; 1.62m) and Hannah Willow (5-3.75; 1.62m) placed third and fifth, respectively, in the high jump.
- The Jackets had the top five finishers and seven of the first eight in the 5K.
- Madeleine Peramaki was the runner-up in the 800 in 2:27.44.
- Freshman Britain Musick took third in the 60 meter hurdles (9.25) and fifth in the 200 (26.88).
