MARION, Ind. - Justin Hoffman finished 3rd in the 400 meter hurdles to pick up All-America honors in two events at the 59th Annual Men's NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championship hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University.
Hoffman, who was 4th in the 110 meter hurdles final a day earlier for All-America recognition, went one better in the 400 meter hurdles final. He sprinted to a school-record effort of 51.82 seconds to place 3rd.
The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Mark Farris, Marcus Benjamin, Michael Beight, and Sammy Starr broke the school record in the event for the third consecutive day. The foursome placed 8th in the final in 41.32 seconds.
The 4 x 400 meter relay squad of Beight, Hoffman, Starr, and Brandon Tress was 9th in 3:18.53. Evan Thayer placed 12th in the 1,500 meter final in 4:05.91.
The Yellow Jackets totaled 20 points as a team to place 17th overall. A total of 125 schools entered at least one athlete in the meet.
