The Germain Ford of Beavercreek Male Athlete of the Week (Dec. 11-19) is basketball player Grant Whisman. The 6-foot-7 junior forward from Middletown, Ohio averaged 26 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in Yellow Jacket home victories over Ohio Dominican, Ohio Christian and Central State. Whisman fired in 17 three-point field goals in 28 attempts for an impressive .677 mark in the three games. His 32-point outburst in the 107-73 win against Central State on Monday, Dec. 19 was a career-best effort.
